The master bath can be a stylish sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of daily life. What is your style? The following is a two part blog on contemporary versus traditional bathroom design. Our designs reflect the personalities and lifestyles of our clients. A creative designer can design in any style.
Based on the needs of the owners, we renovated this bathroom in a transitional, old world style with a European flair. Cherry wood cabinetry, granite counter tops and glass tile accents created a warm intimate atmosphere in this rather large space. A turned wood and wrought iron traditional chandelier and coordinating sconces, mounted on the vanity mirrors, illuminate with soothing yet functional lighting.
A custom tile “area rug” on the heated floor anchors and provides a decorative finish to the space. The custom stained wooden cornice board creates a balanced relationship between the vanities and the window treatment. The walls are painted in a textural finish that adds old world appeal reminiscent of Venetian plaster.
