Biltmore Inspiration – Gardens

Biltmore Estate
I recently visited the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, and I wanted to share some of the inspirational interior design, architectural, and gardening elements. It is a source of inspiration to the design community as well as all who visit this magnificent home.

Biltmore Architectural Detail
It is the largest private residence in the United States, an historic landmark, and has remained unchanged for over a century. The very ornate facade is built in the French Renaissance style, and was inspired by three 16th century French chateaux: Chambord, Blois, and Chenonceau. The interiors reflect European country estates.

Biltmore Gardner’s House
The gardens were designed by American Landscape Architect, Frederick Law Olmsted, who designed Central Park in New York City. The pictures below represent a small portion of his work at Biltmore.
