AMS Interiors designed interior spaces for a new home located on a scenic bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Newport, Rhode Island. The interiors mimic the clean lines of the exterior, which is a contemporary take on a traditional shingle-style home. Colors, materials and finishes were chosen to fit the owner’s aesthetic, to coordinate with artwork in some rooms, and to create easy-to-use interior spaces that are simple, yet rich in color and taste. Each room has a unique “feeling” that meshes with the overall aesthetic of the house. An important design consideration was how to best maximize and “frame” the panoramic views of the ocean and landscape.
